For companies that are still procuring services such as SAP maintenance and SAP consulting fees as free-text purchase orders or blanket purchase orders, the tasks involved can be rather complicated. As well as the significant effort required for the order processes themselves, the companies also lack an overview of the services already provided by suppliers. Lean Service Procurement puts an end to these problems.
What Is Lean Service Procurement?
The central success concept behind Lean Services is based on simplifying the booking of service entry sheets. As the service entry sheet, not the purchase order, is the basis for the incoming invoice, the purchasers can track all the services provided and the budget at all times. This real-time transparency allows them to manage all service purchases quickly and accurately.
How Can SAP Lean Service Simplify the Process Flow?
As soon as you create an external service purchase order, the service entry sheet automatically copies the data and displays the number of confirmed services in the items. After saving, the service sheets can be sent for approval. They can also be withdrawn again. Complex workflows can be defined on the basis of these new flexible workflows.
A goods receipt is automatically generated after a service sheet has been approved – and cancelled again automatically if the service sheet is revoked. This leaner, more transparent process flow makes service procurement much easier and more cost efficient for companies.
