Readiness Check Cloud ALM - We’re Here to Support You!
What can the Readiness Check for Cloud ALM do? How should it be interpreted, and what does the result mean for your company’s roadmap?
As mentioned in the latest news update, transitioning from SAP Solution Manager to Cloud ALM not only offers many benefits but also has some time sensitivity. However, it’s important not to rush the transition from one tool to another, especially since it could impact the entire ALM landscape and multiple interfaces with other systems.
What Challenges May Arise During the Transition to Cloud ALM?
Not all functionalities available in the on-premise SAP Solution Manager will be provided in Cloud ALM. Additionally, some functionalities will be implemented differently than in Solution Manager. Therefore, when transitioning to Cloud ALM, it’s essential to have a clear understanding of potential functional changes. Moreover, Cloud ALM is still under development, which means that you need to be informed not only about how the functionalities are implemented in Cloud ALM but also about the transition path from Solution Manager to Cloud ALM. Not all functionalities available in Solution Manager will be considered in the transition to Cloud ALM.
How Can the Transition to Cloud ALM Proceed?
To facilitate the transition to Cloud ALM, SAP offers the option of performing a so-called Readiness Check. Through the Readiness Check analysis, technical objects from the Solution Manager are reviewed for their usage, and recommendations are then provided for transitioning to Cloud ALM. The information is presented in a visually appealing dashboard. As mentioned earlier, only technical objects from the Solution Manager are reviewed. The ongoing processes cannot be automatically evaluated and require manual assessment. It’s crucial to understand the process and include it in the evaluation. XEPTUM offers the expertise of experienced consultants to conduct a comprehensive Readiness Check for the transition to Cloud ALM with our customers. This includes not only performing the technical Readiness Check but also analyzing and understanding the ongoing processes through workshops to incorporate the results into the overall evaluation.
