SAP BTP: A Cloud-Driven Future

SAP continues to consistently rely on the cloud and, with the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), offers a future-oriented cloud innovation center for creating, integrating and managing applications.

A growing number of SAP products are migrating to the cloud; both all-in-one solutions, such as S/4HANA Cloud and Analytics Cloud, and flexible tools, such as the low-code middleware Cloud Platform Integration. Other examples include the numerous SAP cloud services, such as the central cloud interface for banking institutions or AI-supported bank statement processing. It also enables existing on-premise SAP systems to be enhanced with specific smart features to bring maximum benefit to customers. In the future, therefore, most SAP customers will have at least part of their system landscape in the cloud.

The SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) ensures that users retain visibility and control over SAP’s diverse cloud activities. It combines a technical developer and hosting platform with a marketplace for innovative SAP products and services and is considered an extension of the SAP Cloud Platform (SCP), which made the development part available until 2021.

Application Development and Automation can be used to enhance existing SAP systems both on premise and in the cloud.
Extended Planning and Analysis can be used to incorporate all processes in a common planning environment and run meaningful analyses.
Data and Analytics is the building block for data orchestration and efficient master data management.
SAP BTP is also the central location for process integration. A host of ready-to-use interfaces allow the fast connection of a wide variety of systems.
Various low-code and no-code functions of SAP BTP enable departments to implement new solutions autonomously.

It can, for example, be used to control enabled cloud services and subscriptions, user administration and access rights for the individual solutions, as well as the use of cloud resources and associated costs, thereby providing an overview of and springboard to SAP Cloud solutions.
